Search of Health Care for Rural and Tribal People
Women's Health
SEARCH presented evidence for the first
time that rural women needed gynecological care in addition to the
maternal care and family planning. (The
Lancet 1989)
SEARCH trained the TBAs and village health
workers to provide reproductive health care, education to
women and referral care for abortion, STDs, and family planning.
The studies and advocacy helped initiate
the shift in the global population policy in 1994 towards
women's reproductive health. .
SEARCH is actively engaged in running women's
health programme (more.....)
