system to measure child mortality and developed verbal autopsy

most frequent cause of death in rural children ( 100 villages
in Gadchiroli district,)
(Bulletin
of World Health Organisation, 1992)
Designed and conducted the field trial
of "community-based management of pneumona." which
reduced pneumona mortality by 55% and IMR by 25% in a very
poor, malnourished population
